My name is Jacob Morgan and it is my pleasure to welcome you to my immersive portfolio! I am currently a senior at Ohio University studying Integrated Media with a focus in Mixed Reality (AR/VR/XR) Production. What started as an idle curiosity about 360 degree cameras soon developed into a passionate drive for creating works across the broader spectrum of immersive media.
I find myself extremely fortunate to have been in an environment that has provided me with so many opportunities. Through a variety classes that introduced me to the world of mixed reality production, I have learned to appreciate these emerging mediums as platforms for transformation and growth. Working with teams of people just as passionate as I am, I was able to study the finer points of mixed reality production.
In turn, those classes led me to a position with the Game Research and Immersive Design Lab in the Scripps College of Communication. While there, I have gotten hands-on experience with the latest technologies. From capturing live video footage across the country, to creating virtual worlds with Unity Game Engine, to augmenting our own reality through the Microsoft HoloLens and Magic Leap headsets, I have experienced first-hand the effects these technologies can have on a variety of professions and fields of study.
Now, as I prepare to leave collegiate life behind, I carry with me all that I have learned. As well, I carry with me the passion to create, and the determination to continue exploring the potential of these immersive technologies. For in this rapidly-evolving field of media, there is always more to discover!
